This past weekend, after a long winter, the Kelowna drift scene finally popped out of hibernation when Drift Union and Penticton Speedway hosted D-Day 13.
Team S Club are a group of friends (mainly with old Toyotas!) that run regular grassroots days on the run-off of our local dragstrip here in New Zealand. Meremere Dragway has a large run-off/breaking area that is perfect for days like this.
Agassiz's Speedway is a simple oval, two corners and two straights, but it is small and tight... and notorious for taking out cars. Most often, inexperienced drivers panic and hit the brakes, understeering into the wall. But even pros, who have been drifting the track since 2007 when Cell Block D started have had their share of mishaps here....
