GRASSROOTS: FCD:MP Mallory Park 31st March

With the day off work I had a few hours to spare so I decided to pop on over to a full circuit drift day that was going on over at Mallory Park. Take the jump to see a few snaps from the day.

SNAPSHOT: Broken, but not out

After Reidar Andresen snapped a knuckle while practicing at todays Powerdrift License Day, he limped the DriftMonkey 1JZ Onevia back to a half finished part of the track.

EVENT: DSD Round 1-187 In Glendale

First of all let me introduce Dirty South Drift, or as we call it DSD. Atlanta is kinda slack on the drift series events right now, so when I came up with the idea to start one up I didn't have any issues getting support.

He got the motor back in and dyno'd, so I figured I'd cut something up to start getting people excited for one of the few Corollas that will be running in Formula Drift this year.

I organized a cruise over the weekend for a couple of local car forums I am on and a wide variety of cars showed up. One of my favorites was Nigel's JZX100 Chaser. I have a huge soft spot for luxurious 4-door cars that can get up and boogie when they need to.

GRASSROOTS: Buxton Raceway 27th March

Sunday the 27th of March saw us return to Buxton Raceway in the Derbyshire peaks for the first Drift ONE event in 2011. Drifting in the UK is starting to awake from its winter hibernation and it was a good opportunity to get back into the swing of things and see what the ring of steel had in store.

Winter Blues

"What is your favourite season?" Classic question for first dates. A quick google search tells me that thirty-one percent of the population would tell you the best answer: Summer. Spring and Fall are also acceptable answers, some people just can't take the heat! But can you believe there are folks out there who say: "Oh! I just absolutely LOVE winter!"?

I have committed to this series for the 2010/2011 season and my car has been in Christchurch while Ive been over in Australia working. EVENT: British Drift Championship 2011 Licensing

Saturday the 12th of February kicked off the 2011 season with a qualifying day for the British Drift Championship. New names who wanted to get in on the action and drive amongst some of the finest drivers in Europe had their chance to impress the Judges. It was a sad, sad day with mixed emotions. On one side, I was a bit down by the thought of never going to see cars being driven on maybe my most favourite track here in Norway... Lots of good memories there. On the other side, I was excited. The new Track, would be nearly 3 times as long as the old one with some great sections of corners for drifting.

A few days ago I got my "new" Canon 7D. Around the same time I was chatting to a buddy of mine, when quickly the conversation turned to going out and doing something. Sideways. To my surprise, this is what he came sliding into my drive with; an electric car! Baffled at the sight of the less than 3 meter long 'vehicle', I got in and off we went.
