This is a post that myself and Ian should have made a long long time ago, and I'll do my best to portray a fraction of the fun and events that occurred with some light captured from that day.
Nashville Super Speedway, Nashville Tennessee. What a great track, for only about a five hour drive from me in Atlanta Georgia. NSS is a Nascar type track that will pit drivers at around 100+ mph entries into the first turn.
Right back in my very first post on Drifted.com I mentioned one of my most memorable moments of the UK drifting scene in its infancy was watching Ken Nomura drift a borrowed car smoking around Birmingham Wheels oval circuit. Its been almost been 5 years since I was at Wheels so I figured I'd go take another look.
It was time for my monthly journey back over to Buxton Raceway for another Drift ONE £10 drift day and as the last one of the year it couldn't be missed. Quite literally a smashing time was had by all.
It was less than 6 hours since we'd got back to the hotel to rest up and we found ourselves back at the circuit for the main event. Sunday played host to KD European Drift DNY Racing 2010, throwing 40+ drivers from 5 nations into the mix to battle it out for the title and the €6850 prize fund.
Over the winter months I am going to share photo highlights of the drift year. Usually when I am writing my reports you don’t always get to see my best photos from the day. I tend to write my report first while the information is fresh in my head, and then pick photos that split the writing up nicely.
There's something about drifting after dark that feels frantic, chaotic even. Although we had seen 5/6 car drift trains throughout the day at Lousada, Portugal, as the first night drift session gets underway we still weren't prepared for the sensory overload that ensued...
Team Falken/Green's Paul 'Polo' Cheshire finishes off a set of Falkens for no reason other than to entertain the crowds at the BDC Weekender at Norfolk Arena. Polo is in the process of building a 2JZ powered G35 Skyline for the 2011 season...
"As we invaded the highways with more than 200 drift cars, we realized we were born to ride together and against". Here are a few captures from the latest Wangan Drifter Run happening here in Montreal."
So, Bigfoot Bash was almost 3 weeks ago now and I still haven't gotten around to posting up a write-up on the event... and I genuinely feel bad. I promise I'm not just sitting around playing Halo and Forza though!
