CarX Drift Racing Online 2 Damage Physics Look Mind-Blowing In First Teaser
CarX Drift Racing Online 2 teaser shows off next-level damage physics, leaving us seriously excited for the Q4 Early Access release.
- The first teaser shows destroyed suspension and mangled panels
- Early Access is launching on Steam in Q4 2025, with console versions to follow
- Set to improve upon CarX Drift Racing 3’s already incredible damage system
CarX Technologies dropped a surprise announcement last week by unveiling CarX Drift Racing Online 2.
Rather than an entirely new game, fans expected an announcement that CarX Street was heading to consoles shortly, which was met by mixed opinions.
The news initially came with extremely vague details, but thankfully, they haven’t kept us hanging for long.
We were treated to the first teasers today, and they’ve certainly got us excited about what’s (hopefully) coming soon.
Although many expected the game to be a simple port of the mobile CarX Drift Racing 3 game with a new name slapped on, we could be in for a pleasant surprise if this teaser is anything to go by!
Taking the damage physics to the next level
This initial teaser shows a Toyota GR Supra (a replica, of course) with camber angle that could use a little tweaking!
Although it’s only a teaser, it appears to be in-game (given the buttons), and it’s clear what they’re trying to showcase here.
We never saw suspension components properly mangled in Drift Racing 3, as seen above, despite (truly) pushing the physics to their limits.
Beyond the suspension carnage, numerous other damaged components show impressive attention to detail, alongside sleek graphics that provide welcome NFS vibes.
The panels are properly deformed, the lights are smashed, and, if you look closely, even the roof appears slightly misaligned.
If you’ve played CarX Drift Racing 3, you’ll know it sets an impressively high standard for damage modeling, especially with the limited competition in the drifting games sector.
The missing body parts, crumpling panels, and twisted chassis we were treated to were already nearing Wreckfest 2 and BeamNG territory. However, this new screenshot suggests that the CarX team intends to take things even further.
When is CarX Drift Racing Online 2 hitting the shelves?
The game is scheduled to hit Steam Early Access in Q4 2025, and console versions are expected to follow shortly after the Early Access period ends.
CarX Technologies is billing this as the “next step for CarX Technologies and the Drift Racing series” – and from what we’ve seen so far, they might meet those big expectations.
If you’re as eager as we are to see more, you can wishlist CarX Drift Racing Online 2 now on Steam.
