The first thing we HIGHLY recommend doing when you get started is turning the music off on the menu, or you’ll soon be going crazy!

Right away, you’re given a car for free, and you can either check out the showroom by pressing ‘CAR’ or hit ‘PLAY’ to head straight into the game.

You’ll soon realize that this seemingly simple game features surprisingly challenging physics, where you’ll need to consider the shape and weight of the egg, as well as maintaining delicate throttle and braking control.

If you’re familiar with drifting physics, this weight transfer will likely feel familiar, except this time, you’re going up and down instead of sideways!

As you navigate the harsh inclines and descents and tricky humps and bumps, the game keeps you on your toes at all times.

You need to travel as far as you can while collecting as many coins as possible along the way so that you can earn money to unlock the upgraded rides in the showroom, each with its own unique features.

Remember that the coins will come naturally as you drive, so try to focus on getting the highest score possible, as this is what will pay off when you earn the bragging rights while showing off to your friends. Don’t forget to share the game with them for some friendly competition, too!

Power-ups in Eggy Car

While you’re focusing on keeping the egg safe, you’ll notice some special power-ups appear along the way. Don’t be afraid of these, as they’re there to help, and they can be real game-changers when used at the right moment!

The first one you’ll come across will be the ‘Freeze’ power-up, which temporarily freezes your egg to your car.

Once activated, it’s perfect for those particularly bumpy sections where you know your egg would usually make a break for freedom, and you can put the pedal to the metal without worrying.

Just don’t get confident for too long, as when it starts defrosting, you only have a few seconds until it’s fully thawed and ready to escape again!

Next, you’ll eventually come across magnet power-ups that pull in all nearby coins. Why choose between coins and survival when you can have both?

Keep an eye out for these power-ups during your runs. They appear randomly, so use them to your advantage. They might just help you achieve that new high score you’ve been chasing!

Eggy Car Tips & Tricks

The path to egg-cellence (sorry!) requires patience and super careful driving, but there’s a little more to consider:

Understanding Egg Physics

Given their bottom-heavy design, eggs naturally want to roll, which means Eggy will become more unstable at higher speeds or under heavy braking/acceleration. Consider slowing down and using gentle pedal control when it bounces around too much.

Sometimes, stopping completely to let the egg settle or driving backward and forwards a little to ‘reset’ the heavier bottom on the cargo bed pays off.

Driving Techniques

• Watch the terrain ahead – those extra seconds of preparation make all the difference
• Master the art of tapping the throttle and brakes – mastering these smooth inputs can make all the difference
• Let gravity handle the downhills – remember, patience is key, and there’s no timer in Eggy Car
• Use your torque on the uphills – try carefully ‘leaning’ into hills while applying full throttle – the suspension helps cushion the egg

Power-up Pro Tips

Once you get to the ‘frozen’ gem, floor it temporarily to get as far as possible. But stay alert – when it starts flashing, you’ve got mere seconds before it thaws completely! Think of it as your egg’s brief vacation in the freezer.

Eggy Car Showroom/Car List

When you collect enough coins to unlock one of the cool rides in the showroom, you’ll want to be mindful of your car choices. Each vehicle in the car collection comes with its own quirks, and be warned – they’re not always helpful!

For example, I couldn’t resist the F1 car. While it’s great fun and crazy fast, I soon regretted my choice.

The shape meant the egg wanted to escape far more often due to its shape and lack of support than with other vehicles. Also, besides getting up hills, speed isn’t very helpful in this game.

That said, the F1’s aerodynamics did provide a little extra benefit when it came to ‘scooping’ the egg back in. It’s definitely a lot more challenging though, and is certainly a better consideration for advanced players than beginners!

We recommend going for stability, at least to start. The big, heavy truck provides plenty of torque for the hills and has a much more stable area for the egg. You’ll need to save up, though – it’ll set you back 500 coins.

Once you’ve mastered Eggy Car, the ultimate vehicle to unlock is the campervan, with its shorter wheelbase making it perfect for the undulating terrain. However, you’ll need to hang around for a while to afford this one – it costs a whopping 1,000 coins!

Unfortunately, Eggy Car doesn’t offer a tuning or upgrade system, so we highly recommend alternative games like Drift Hunters or Drift Hunters MAX if that’s what you’re after.

Both games offer heaps of tuning and customization, while MAX brings AI traffic, drift challenges, and much more!
