Fastest Cars In NFS Heat (Racing, Top Speed, 0-60)

From the RSR’s sheer dominance to the Regera’s top speed and the Evo’s brutal acceleration, here are NFS Heat’s fastest cars for every situation.

Introduction

Need for Speed Heat arrived on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in November 2019 as the 21st installment in EA’s long-running street racing franchise and marking the series’ 25th anniversary.

The game earned its place as the fifth best-selling title on PlayStation 4 at launch, with critics praising it as the best release since Ghost Games’ Need For Speed (2015) reboot.

When Need for Speed Unbound later showed up as the new kid on the block in 2022, it fell short of expectations with both critics and fans (trust me, I tried to love it). This explains why NFS Heat’s player count keeps climbing, with around 4 million copies sold to date.

Unfortunately, following the lack of sales and interest in Unbound, the future of NFS remains uncertain right now. This has left Heat as the go-to choice for most NFS fans, which is why we’re helping you find the ultimate fast cars in the game.

Why We’ve Picked Three “Fastest Cars”

When looking for the “fastest” car in Palm City, it isn’t as simple as picking the highest number on the stat sheets – I’ve learned this lesson the hard way.

Sure, top speed matters, but the streets will throw everything at you – tight corners, long straights, and intense drag strip showdowns that’ll test every aspect of your ride (and driving abilities!)

Although you might build the fastest car for dominating circuit races, it’ll soon be put to shame when wanting to keep up with cars with the highest top speeds.

Likewise, the car with the highest top speed will handle like a tank when hitting the tight and twisty corners (plenty of Regera drivers learn this the hard way!).

Of course, the quickest 0-60mph drag strip monster won’t be the ultimate pick for the technical courses either.

For these reasons, we’re breaking this guide down into three categories that actually matter when trying to top all the leaderboards in NFS Heat:

  • Best all-around race car (perfect for a variety of races)
  • Highest possible top speed (when you want to prove yourself in a straight line)
  • Quickest off-the-line acceleration (perfect for 0-60 and quarter-mile drag races)

You’ll find your perfect high-speed weapon, whether you’re hunting leaderboard times, setting speed records, or just want to embarrass your friends off the line. We recommend saving up for all three rides if you’re after full NFS Heat domination!

Once you’ve got these in your garage, check out our top picks for drifting and the ultimate overall cars that NFS Heat has to offer.

If you can’t play NFS Heat right now, our free drifting game Drift Hunters MAX is totally free to play wherever you’re at work, school, or on the road. It even has cross-platform saving so that you can pick it up later!

Fastest Overall – Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 ’73

Price & Specs

  • Price: $86,000
  • Unlock Rep Level: 16
  • Horsepower: 914 hp (Tuned)
  • Top Speed: 233 mph (Tuned)
  • 0-60 mph: 2.20 seconds (Tuned)

It might not look like it, but ask anyone who’s tried to win races in NFS Heat, and they’ll tell you that this 1973 Porsche stands as the undisputed king of Heat’s racing scene.

While it certainly doesn’t match its real-world performance, this crazy overpowered beast has dominated the meta since NFS 2015. Its reign continues in Heat, bringing supernatural handling and bonkers all-around performance.

The reason why it’s so damn good is down to its perfect balance of attributes combined with the bargain price tag of just 86,000 credits.

It features a super lightweight chassis while handling like it’s on rails. Throw NFS Heat’s in-depth tuning and customization features, providing a 900+ HP engine into the mix, and you’ve created a monster!

When it comes to technical circuits, the RSR is untouchable. It maintains stability even at speeds over 186 mph (300 kph), where other cars will need to slam on the brakes.

It’s not just a track weapon, either – the RSR can cause an upset in off-road races (with the right tune) while still having competitive straight-line speed, making it the ultimate all-rounder.

The RSR Controversy

The RSR’s sheer ridiculousness has split the community. Many see it as a ‘cheat code,’ watching a 1973 classic outperform modern hypercars on every circuit.

When the McLaren F1 DLC was introduced, many expected (and hoped) this would be a new RSR killer. However, even the F1 falls short in overall performance, particularly on the tight corners (which there’s no shortage of!)

This has led many competitive players to deliberately avoid the RSR, making it a badge of honor to beat one with any other car in the game.

While it’s undoubtedly your best shot at topping the leaderboards, you’ll still need serious skills to outperform talented drivers looking to cause an upset with inferior cars!

Fastest Top Speed – Koenigsegg Regera

Price & Specs

  • Price: $1,227,500
  • Unlock Rep Level: 50
  • Horsepower: 1,500 bhp
  • Top Speed: 255 mph (Tuned)
  • 0-60 mph: 2.7 seconds (Tuned)

When bagging the ultimate top speed in the game, the Regera is the undisputed champ, capable of clocking 255 mph. However, this is only possible downhill. In most conditions, you’ll reach nearer 245 mph.

With its cannon-like launch capabilities and near-perfect handling stats (on paper,) it seems like the perfect choice, but there’s a reason why it doesn’t win our all-arounder category.

Why It’s Not The Overall Champ

Although the Regera dominates the spec sheet, it rarely gets to stretch its legs when navigating Palm City’s winding roads.

The map has only two or three straight sections long enough for the Regera to reach its top speed. Even then, you’ll struggle to maintain it before smashing into the nearest object!

Despite its impressive stats, the Regera fails to match the nimbleness of the RSR when it comes to hitting the corners. Several cars will happily upset it in a typical race.

Think of the Regera as Palm City’s muscle car on steroids. While it’s incredible in a straight line, you’ll be disappointed if you think you’ll stand a chance of matching the RSR in a race.

While it’s the ultimate choice for hunting down top speed records, you’ll have more success with alternatives like the Porsche RSR above. Alternatively, consider the Pagani Huayra and Ferrari F40, especially if you’re after a little tail-happy action!

Fastest Acceleration – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX

Price & Specs

  • Price: $72,500
  • Unlock Rep Level: 16
  • Horsepower: 885+ HP (Tuned)
  • 0-60 mph: 1.67 seconds (Tuned)
  • Quarter Mile: 8.5 seconds (Tuned)
  • Top Speed: 241 mph (Tuned)

If your priority is to be catapulted off the line as fast as possible, look no further than the Evo IX!

Thanks to its rally-bred all-wheel-drive system combined with sheer power, the Evo is capable of a neck-bending 1.67-second 0-60 time. This is significantly quicker than both the RSR (2.20s) and Regera (2.70s).

The Trade-Off

While the Evo IX dominates drag strips and naturally impresses in off-road events, it doesn’t stand a chance of competing with the RSR’s overall racing capabilities and the Regera’s straight-line abilities.

If you want something that’s simply unbeatable in short bursts, it’s the perfect tool. However, there are better options for just about anything else after the quarter-mile distance.

The Evo proves that acceleration isn’t everything—its sophisticated AWD system and lighter weight allow it to punch well above its weight off the line. However, if you’re after the ultimate canyon carver or top-speed champ, you’ll want to look at the other options.
