Formula DRIFT Docuseries Revisits The Fiery Night At Road Atlanta

From Odi Bakchis’s dramatic car fire to an all-Norwegian final showdown, Episode 2 of Formula DRIFT’s ‘House of Drift’ looks back over Road Atlanta’s most intense moments.

Following the debut episode of Formula DRIFT’s ‘House of Drift’ docuseries, this second installment takes viewers behind the scenes at Road Atlanta for Round 2 of the 2024 championship, which wasn’t short of dramatic moments.

Road Atlanta’s tough layout, combining 100+ mph entries, technical corners, and significant elevation changes, once again pushed drivers to their absolute limits throughout the event.

The most dramatic moment came when Odi Bakchis experienced a terrifying mechanical failure that caused his car to burst into flames.

As his team and fellow competitors looked on helplessly from the live stream, it was a nail-biting moment before Odi eventually climbed out of the car to extinguish the fire.

Though he escaped unharmed, the explosion caused significant damage to his Nissan Silvia S15, forcing his withdrawal and automatically advancing Simen Olsen to the final.

Meanwhile, season points leader James Deane continued his impressive 2024 momentum from Long Beach before meeting Fredric Aasbo in the Final 4, resulting in a rare loss for the Irishman.

The event culminated in an all-Norwegian final between Fredric Aasbo and Simen Olsen, with Aasbo emerging victorious after an intense battle.

Off-track, Larry Chen and Jarod DeAnda explored the Type S Nightlights showcase, featuring an impressive array of show cars that highlighted Atlanta’s deep connection to drift culture.

While in Atlanta, Jarod also visits special guest Killer Mike of ‘Run The Jewels’ fame, where the Grammy-winning artist shared his passion for car culture and showed a preview of his car collection.
