Formula DRIFT Unveils New Behind-The-Scenes Docuseries

The all-new Netflix-style documentary series reveals unique insights and drama behind the tire smoke throughout the 2024 Formula DRIFT season.

This series is a must-watch for any FD fan. Starting with the action-packed season opener at Long Beach, it brings impressive production and unique, never-seen-before behind-the-scenes action.

This episode highlights the interesting storylines (which there was no shortage of) that went down, including 14-year-old Japanese sensation Hiroya Minowa’s incredible start to his Formula DRIFT career, taking the win in the seeding bracket in his debut.

As you may remember, Round 1 was a rollercoaster ride for (at the time) three-time FD champion James Deane, and it closely follows his journey from disaster to victory throughout the event.

After his all-new 2024 AutoZone Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD erupted in flames during media day, the team worked through the night to rebuild the car before Deane thanked them in the way he knows best.

As the two European finalists put their wet drifting practice to the test, fighting through increasingly crazy conditions, Deane claimed victory over Norway’s Simon Olsen in a rain-soaked final battle.

From the downtown parade through Long Beach’s iconic streets to the technical competition challenges, the episode captures never-seen-before action and personal stories we don’t get to see on the live stream or at the events.

If you’re keen to relive firsthand what went down in the 2024 season and want to know more about FD, this awesome series looks to be the ultimate cure for the off-season blues.

Looking ahead to the 2025 Formula DRIFT season, we’ve already had the schedule announcement and some surprise new entries to the driver roster.
