Formula DRIFT Returns to Road Atlanta Home of the Inaugural Formula DRIFT Event Back in 2004. Road Atlanta opened in 1970 and was home of the inaugural Formula DRIFT event back in 2004. The 2.54-mile, 12-turn track is owned by Panoz Motor Sports Group and hosts many events throughout the year including Formula DRIFT. Utilizing Turns 10A, and 10B of the road course, cars slide sideways through the turns and then hit the loop before the bridge and back towards Turns 10B, 10A, and then ends dramatically by drifting uphill on an incline… -

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway plays host to Formula DRIFT. The "Diamond in the Desert" is just outside the Vegas Strip and has hosted events such as NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA and more recently Formula DRIFT. The custom built course is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, drifting circuits in the world. With a very high-speed triple entry, drivers are pushed to put their fears behind them and risk it all when entering the first turn. -

ProAm drivers were moved to their own separate area as the main pit area was filled to the brim with all the Pro drivers. Every year there have been an increase in the amount of drivers competing for that top 32 spot, and its great to see so many new faces and cars out to battle. -

VIDEO: Call Me Maybe
We got tired of making the stereotypical drift video. So, we did some brainstorming and came up with the idea of making a cheesy music video at a Formula Drift event. We chose the infamous song Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen and we began filming. We just chose random FD fans/staff/drivers to lip sync the song and I can say without a doubt that this was the most fun I've ever had shooting a video; it just goes to show that the fun at drift events isn't confined to the track! -
