Tokyo Xtreme Racer’s Tuning & Customization Revealed
This highly modified Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R video provides the first deep dive into TXR 2025’s upcoming tuning and customization features.
Yesterday, we shared some freshly leaked TXR footage, offering an exciting behind-the-scenes look at what to expect from the Early Access version, which will be available for PC via Steam on January 23.
Players who purchase during the (expected) four-month Early Access period can get the game for just $29.99, with a price increase expected for the full PC release. It’s expected to arrive on PlayStation and Xbox consoles later in the year.
The fresh teasers for the game are now in full swing, and this time we’re treated to an in-depth look at the tuning aspects of the game, which we know many of you have been dying to learn more about.
Be sure to click play on the video above to enjoy the remixed TXR Zero music in all its glory. The modern-day remakes of ‘Clever Drive’ and ‘Chaos’ are such a vibe.
In the video, the legendary Nissan Skyline R34 is the weapon of choice, and thankfully, the creator, FluffyTheKami, has plenty of cash to show us what’s on offer!
While there are several levels of engine upgrades, the creator mentioned that engine swaps are not yet available. However, they also noted that certain rivals have swapped engines, giving some hope that they’re coming soon.
We get our first look at some of the new wheel offerings, including the likes of the iconic Enkei RPF1…
… Before looking at some of the crazy intricate details that we know and love from the previous games in the series. Here, you can choose the exact brake calipers you want before being able to adjust them to any angle.
Twin calipers are also on offer if you feel they’re needed, alongside a selection of rotors.
The aero department has plenty of choices, but other upgradeable aspects, such as lights, grilles, and mirrors, are yet to emerge.
As for the genuine aftermarket parts on offer, they seem somewhat limited here, although they may still need unlocking. Considering the official licensing, we’re surprised we didn’t see a NISMO hood.
Regardless, remember this is before we’ve even gotten to Early Access. Hopefully, there’s still plenty more to come. With the number of licensed cars and parts we already have, we’re certainly not disappointed!
Alignment includes camber, toe, ride height, and offset, which will come as a relief to many! There’s also plenty more minor details to adjust.
The livery designer allows you to create unique designs, such as this paint fade.
Here’s the finished product before FluffyTheKami heads off into the night to take on some rivals on the Expressway!
While you wait for the Tokyo Xtreme Racer reboot to be released in just a few days, we highly recommend checking out our free online browser game, Drift Hunters MAX.
The game now features plenty of tuning and customization options, including a unique ‘drift attack mode’ (with clipping points), AI traffic, and cross-platform saving. Considering it’s completely free and can be played anywhere on almost any device, we feel it’s worth checking out.
